A national, valid, credible, vendor-neutral
certification program for healthcare interpreters

We hit the ground running!

Two months ago we said that now is the time and CCHI is the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters.  We were right!  The CCHI community is growing daily as we near the 1,000 mark.  Our list of supporters and sponsors continues to increase as well.  This is an exciting time and it is clear that our excitement is shared by healthcare interpreters and users of interpreter services throughout the country.

This month has been full of activities and events as our commissioners have shared CCHI's vision and mission with the media, healthcare executives, associations, organizations, and professionals in the healthcare interpreting arena.  Our commissioners met in person this month in Chicago, IL, where they completed the first step in creating our certification program.  October also marked the beginning of our job task analysis.

Thank you again for your support and participation in the national dialogue on healthcare interpreter certification.  You and people like you – the most experienced and respected in healthcare organizations, healthcare interpreting and healthcare certification – form the backbone and brainpower at CCHI.
