I am asking you to do two things today: click here to complete our survey and send the survey to every interpreter you can reach. Here’s why:
This is the moment that you have been waiting for. This is the reason you joined the CCHI Community. Last September, the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) was created with the mission to develop and administer a national, valid, credible, vendor-neutral certification program for healthcare interpreters. Today, we are asking for your voice, your perspective, so we can develop a certification program that reflects your needs.
A thorough and accurate definition of the profession as it exists today will be the foundation of our certification. We must understand the entire breadth of the profession, everything that interpreters are doing, including where and how they are providing services. For the definition of the profession to be truthful and without bias, it must come from the profession itself. It must come from you!
A panel of interpreters developed this survey to gather data from thousands of interpreters, their supervisors/managers and interpreter trainers across the country. The results from this survey will define the profession and provide the roadmap to create a valid and credible certification program.
Today, I am asking you to do two things:
1. If you are an interpreter, interpreter supervisor/manager or interpreter trainer, click this link and complete the survey.
2. Forward this link to the survey to every interpreter, interpreter supervisor/manager or interpreter trainer you can reach.
We have to get it right. We absolutely need your input to do this. Please take about 45 minutes and complete the survey today and then push your forward button.
