The Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) will release our first certification examination in Fall 2010.  To prepare yourself while waiting for national certification, we suggest that you:

• Keep abreast of developments in the field
• Participate in the certification development process by getting involved in opportunities as they present themselves (i.e., certification test development, certification test pilot testing, etc) so that we hear your voice and develop a certification program that reflects your needs
• Take advantage of formal training and continuing education
• Attend local, state and national conferences
• Join professional interpreting associations
